OAKRIDGE MISSIONS 2012
We are seeking the Lord for 2012 as it will be our year for "Missions in St. Peters" - our Jerusalem
Nursing Home Ministry @ St. Peters Every third Sunday afternoon at 2:00 we have committed to meet together with music, devotion and a whole lot of loving with seniors in the nursing home and assisted living area that we have adopted! You will receive a rich blessing as you come and get to know these wonderful people!
MISSION JOPLIN
Thirty five of us were able to go to Joplin to help with the rebuilding process from the tornado. We were only there 2 days but one group was able to roof a house, reinforce a deck, and do odds and ends around the house to help make it livable for an elderly woman. Another group worked with the school district moving and sorting books and clothes for the schools. An additional group worked with a local church to set up a free give away of clothes, toys, and household items to Joplin residents. We were then able to work on Saturday meeting people and needs through this give away . The final group delivered food collected by Oakridge to 4 families in need in the area where two accepted the Lord as Savior. What a blessing we all experienced. We are seeking the Lord's will as we plan to go to Joplin again in the spring of 2012.
Mission Trip this year was to HAITI
July 30 - August 8, 2011
Mission trip 2011 is over -but continue to PRAY for the Haitian people.

The team was able to work in partnership with "Haiti Outreach Ministries" (HOM)
and do construction and repairs to buildings damaged by the 2010 earthquakes, hold Vacation Bible School in a tent city, minister in a couple of orphanages,
and worship with the Haitians- a real blessing as hundreds praised the Lord through singing, praying and preaching through the evening into early morning each day.
As the team reported on Sunday evening, their request was that we will continue to PRAY for the people of Haiti as they recover from the 2010 earthquakes. Also, that we will consider what God would have each of us do to become hands and feet to meet the needs of thousands of orphans who lost their parents and families in the earthquakes.
While we are praying for them, they have told us that they will also pray for us.
Brief facts to add to prayer for Haiti:
* Population: Approx. 8.3 million, almost entirely of African origin
* Employment rate: 30%
* Haiti is the poorest and most densely populated country in the
Western Hemisphere
*Thousand of Haitians have trusted in Jesus since the earthquakes!
